O R D E R

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 a of the Aircraft Act, 1934 (XXII of 1934), the Director General of Civil Aviation, for the purpose of securing the safety of aircraft operation, hereby directs that every operator or owner of an aircraft registered in India shall make available, free of charge a seat including the observer’s seat on the aircraft to an officer of the Civil Aviation Department authorised by the said Director General to undertake :

    1. enroute examination and inspection of the work of a flight crew member;

    2. inspection of the maintenance facilities at the enroute or terminal stations;

    3. inspection of the operation of an aircraft or of its equipment; and

    4. such other examination or examinations as may be necessary for the purpose of securing safety of aircraft operation.
