AIR SAFETY CIRCULAR NO. 6 OF 1995

Subject : Pre-flight Medical of Crew

Rule 24 of the Aircraft Rule, 1937, requires that the pilot, copilot, engineer, cabin crew & other operating crew member shall not have detectable alcohol in their blood, breath or urine while operating the flight. All operators engaged in public air transport operations shall establish a system of pre-flight medical checks for their crew to ensure compliance of this requirement. The procedure so established shall form a part of the Operations Manual. The Chief of Operations shall ensure effective implementation of the procedure.
